DIY summer school || found in nature
I cannot believe this is the last round of DIY Summer School! This was a little flash of a thought back in May and I feel so lucky that everyone I approached was game. This group is no joke and I am so grateful they wanted to play along. Mainly because I draw so much inspiration from each and every one of them.

I decided to take a small end table, one of those that we all have sitting in our basement/guest room/attic, and turn it into a barcart…
plastic slide in casters
(You could really use any kind but I love the clear, acrylic look of these!)
spray paint
(1 color of your choice, and 1 gold for the hardware)
large door pull
(found mine here)
drill
side table
BEFORE:
I had this table left over from my trip to HighPoint Market back in May.
As you may remember I got to participate in a DIY workshop with the talented Eddie Ross and one of the crafts he shared with us was “how to Cover a Table in Burlap”
It was a really easy and cool way to repurpose an old table and lucky me, I got to take his example home because he couldn’t take it on his flight.
The yellow didn’t really go with my house so I decided to repaint it my favorite shade…navy!
As you can see, I played around with a couple of ideas before landing on navy.
Blue just always wins in my book!
Once it was painted I drilled holes in the center of each leg and followed the instructions on my caster package. They were so simple- just drill, hammer in the plastic socket, and slide in the casters.
To give the table more of a bar cart appearance I also attached a large industrial pull.
I couldn’t put that baby on without first painting it gold though.
A quick coat of gold and 4 screws later…
I am not sure why I haven’t done this with another table before now. It was so easy!
I couldn’t wait to style this and create a fun bar area in my dining room.
The beauty of the casters is that I can easily roll my bar cart out onto the porch or into the living room during a get-together.
