Welcome to my fall tour! I love when I get to take part in the Blogger Stylin’ Home Tours because it always motivates me to not only throw up some seasonal decor but to also make some fun new changes! Seems like each tour I end up making over a room because, really what fun is it to just make a few tweaks…why not paint, rearrange, and buy a couple new things?! My husband really loves this way of thinking BTW 🙂
If you’re here from Restless Arrow I am so happy to have you! Amber’s house is always amazingly bright and welcoming! And if you are here from our awesome host, Lindsay, welcome too! I always start any of my seasonal decorating on our front porch. It is definitely used as another room in our house and theres no place I’d rather sit with a cup of coffee!

We recently almost moved and I am so glad we changed our minds, largely in part because I would have missed our front porch so much!
This year I decided to add in some Eugenia topiaries and I love them! My dad was in town last weekend and we planted them together. We added pea gravel to the top of the potting soil just for added interest. I love how it looks cleaner and neater. Pumpkins are a given and I love grabbing some of the pale green and white ones too. They add the softest touch.
I recently changed the furniture layout out here and it opened things up a bit. Come on over anytime and we can have hot chocolate or a cocktail out here!
And ps…ignore that struggling plant in the background eek
I am going to show you some of my living room and dining room today. When you last saw my living room it looked like this and there’s been several changes since. I am loving my new arm chairs and they just so happen to be this gorgeous mushroomy green color which is perfect for fall! I have also added in lots of texture with a cowhide rug, block print ottomans (that are only $30 people!!), and a wooden stool. For fall I just added in even more texture through greenery, flowers, and a couple pumpkins peppered around the room…
The naked ladies are also a new addition, requested by Taylor 🙂
I found the marble edison build lights here and they not only look really cool but they put off a really warm light that is perfect for when you just want a little glow in the room.
I love just bringing in fresh flowers and plants to coordinate with each season. I tried to find some in deeper shades to tie in with my indigo, plum, and metallic palette.
Candles are another easy addition that look pretty but more importantly they set the tone for cold nights in. I love to light candles and make the whole place feel cozy.
And speaking of nights in, the older I get the more I really really love just being home. We stopped “going out” regularly a few years ago unless it’s a date night or a special occasion but now we have grown to be even more content just being at home. It is literally my favorite place to be. I try to encourage a little family fun and what better way than leaving some games right out in the open. I put these dominos in a bowl because they are pretty and hopefully we will pick them up instead of turning on the tv!
And now on to the dining room! Just to recap this room looked like this a week ago. Somehow decorating for fall spurred a complete makeover. I have been wanting to give our walls a more neutral palette and as much as I loved the light blue I wanted something a little warmer and cohesive with the living room. I was also dying to hang this art I found at HomeGoods. It caught my eye and I bought it without considering where it would go. I guess that’s how you’re supposed to feel about art when you love it but it, unfortunately, sat in our hallway for a few months because I just didn’t have a wall for it. I decided to take down the back of our built-in banquette and I love how it is such a focal point now!
I also FINALLY chose dining room chairs so if you gave me input when I harassed you all, thank you!
The new paint color (Agreeable Grey darkened several shades) warmed things up so much that I didn’t feel the need to go all out with decorations. Just some mini pumpkins as a centerpiece…
Seriously, the shapes and colors in nature always make the best accents!
I sprinkled some on my bar as well
I stuck with a warmer more earthy color scheme with my accessories and although it feels very different from before I am kind of liking this new feel. Just like the seasons, I am trying to be better about embracing change big or small. Even though I decorate for others, doing it in my own house is nerve racking for me. I can obsess over the smallest details and it takes me a while to warm up to changes even when I am the one who initiated them!
Hope you enjoy a little peek into my house! My approach to each season is to keep things simple and pull inspiration from the nature around me. Make sure to continue through the tours because up next is the very talented and inspirational Myquillyn otherwise known as The Nester!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will be back!
