Having a well-organized office for yourself is almost as important, if not more, than having your kids prepared for the school year. It reminds me of the airplane analogy…apply your face mask before your kids so you can be of any use to them…if your space is a hot mess than your kids most likely won’t have what they need, when they need it.

If I could only buy one office supply for the rest of my life, I would first die. DIE.
But, if I had to choose it would definitely be calendars.
I think you need three kinds:
On Display
You need to have a large calendar that you can quickly reference.
On the wall or laying flat on a desk is great.
I chose one of my favorite calendars, cut out the pages, and taped them to the wall.
I don’t write on this one since it doubles as art but I can quickly look up from my desk and find a specific date.
In a Planner

My planner is my life line! I keep my blogging editorial calendar in the overall month view and make daily notes for appointments and functions on designated days. It would be impossible to keep up with baseball, piano, and dance schedules without my planner. It is either on my desk, in my purse, or in my car at all times!
On Your Phone

Let’s not deny it, we all rely heavily on our phones and are rarely without them.
It just makes sense that if you constantly have this thing with you to keep important dates and reminders on it. I am a big fan of the alarm feature- I give myself a 10 minute warning for bus drop off in the afternoons because I have been known to get caught up in work and not make it down there on time- eek, I know!!

Aside from calendars I also cannot live without these tools and they are always within reach:

Here’s another quick and cheap organizational project I did one time:

Oh how I love organizational supplies. I think it's a trap that I fall into every time…if I buy more supplies I will be more organized 🙂

Yeah my organizational supplies usually need some organizing, ha ha!

I love pretty office supplies like these! The only tip that consistently works with me is to keep everything in one place.
