I am obsessed with the new trend…cake pops! It is especially alluring when you have two kids with birthdays in the busiest month of the year, December. Anything that can cut down on the work and preparation, I am all about. I also love the thought of little sweet treats that can be easily managed by toddlers. In my experience all kids just lick the icing off a cupcake and then throw the rest away. And don’t even get me started on cakes. I have stained more clothing with cake icing than I would like to remember. Parties should be about the experience and memories, not baking and clean up duties.
I have been compiling recipes to make these little guys by hand until I stumbled across the Cake Pop Maker from Babycakes. The directions seem simple enough so I cannot wait to crank this sucker up. I have several occasions coming up for which I will be able to use it so I think I will easily get my money’s worth. Not only will the pops make great decoration on their own, they will also be easy to eat by all. Here are some pictures I am using as inspiration….
ps..my son is a HUGE angry birds fan! |
