Welcome back from the weekend! Anyone already feeling like having a drink?! Ha ha just kidding but I do have a great bar to share with you. I had this antique armoire that my old neighbors gave me when they were moving. I used it in my oldest son’s room when he was little and eventually it made it’s way into my sons’ shared bedroom. You can see a peek of it here…
When we took the armoire from my neighbors it was painted green and I quickly repainted it navy. Over time we no longer needed it in their room (you can see their recent makeover here) and it sat in our basement for a couple years. I recently decided to take on the task of stripping the armoire and bringing it back to it’s natural wood finish. Stripping is not for the faint of heart, I will say, but it can be done!
It took a little elbow grease, mainly because there were a couple surprise layers of paint from years past, but it was so worth the effort. I absolutely love this piece and it adds so much character to our dining room.
Head over now and see how I styled and organized this piece!
And today I am announcing the winner of my Room Design Makeover.
Make sure to check in on Facebook to see who it is!
