I am pretty sure I heard a Hallelujah course when I hit publish on this post! I can’t believe I used to churn out 5 posts A WEEK on this blog. I could think of endless things to post about and somehow found time to schedule posts on a regular basis. Gone are those days so it feels pretty special to put anything up these days. And what I am sharing today is special to me…a project that allowed me to create a mix of traditional and eclectic. These homeowners were so easy to work with and brought so much to the design just by being trusting and willing to add a little funk. They had just completed a renovation of their home and it gave me a great foundation to begin with in their kitchen and living room. All that I had to work around was an antique sofa, which was totally fine with me! So let’s get on to the reveal…
BEFORE
The blue chairs were a later addition, part of my designs, but I guess we didn’t get before pictures earlier.
This eat-in area was just begging for a pedestal table and pretty fabrics!
AFTER
*The anal decorator in me wants to make a note that the color of these chairs is much deeper/indigo in real life. I love these images but the color definitely reads differently in photos.
The texture in this room makes me so happy!
These clients have a huge extended family so they really wanted this space to serve as a hang out area just outside the kitchen. They didn’t want it to feel too crowded since it is still a pass thru to the porch but wanted it to feel like another small family room.
Oh, those dreamy barstools next to the gorgeous navy island! All the heart-eye emojis! And I love the small, but impactful light fixture over the table. The fabric combo for the banquette is one of my favorites to date! We took some of the same trim from the sofa lumbar and had it added to a grey and white striped fabric for the roman shades. We also snagged these pillows from McGee & Co.
The whole space is so fresh and bright with just enough of the unexpected to make me really happy! I hope you have enjoyed this reveal and if you are anything like these clients: trusting, calm, stylish, and decisive can we please work together?! And now that I am blogging again, at least for this week ;), do you guys want a follow-up post to this one? I was thinking about doing a “Get the Look” post where I recreate a room similar to this one with stoppable links if you guys are interested?? Let me know in the comments or over on Instagram!
