Well, for me the One Room Challenge has come to a close! My photographer was booked up and I was due to be out of town this week so we had to do our shoot this past Tuesday. Luckily everything came in, for the most part, and we were able to style and photograph the room. I have to say this may be one of my favorite rooms ever. I have a soft spot for kid spaces because everyone is a little more bold with their choices. These are the rooms that everyone feels comfortable pushing the envelope a little so the design process is always more fun. And this room, in particular, just has mo many qualities that I love…a good mix of styles, soft pretty colors, and lots of personal touches. I will obviously wait until next week for a reveal but I thought I would share a DIY project that I did for the room.
I just cut strips (about 1 in), hung them over the wreath, and tied with twine.
Disclosure: on my first go-round I just wrapped the tissue in alternating colors. It wasn’t until I was almost done that I realized it just didn’t look “soft” enough. I decided to cut all of the twine and lay a layer of white tissue over each group. That way the color just kind of peeks out and isn’t so bright. Either way could be cute but for this room I wanted a more muted look.
Here is a peek at the end result…
