Reveal day woo hoo! This little guest room/office combo has sucked me in. There are few things left in this world that I can claim as my own so having free reign in this room was Christmas, birthday, and a Real Housewives marathon all rolled up into one! I feel all nested in here so I want to share it finally…
Since this room is functioning as a dual space: guest room & office I am going to break the posts down into two parts. Today I am showing you the room how we will use it a majority of the time, as the office:
I have had the actual bed for years and the headboard has changed at least a dozen times. The latest in covered in this buffalo check fabric from IKEA.
I found that print from Honey & Fitz and knew immediately that it had to be mine. I found the extra large frame at Goodwill, mat included, for $10. The mat has a faint pink dye to it and it only makes me love it more.
By arranging the bed this way we are left for extra space for a little kid area. Gotta throw em a bone every once in awhile even though they ruin all of your uninterrupted time 🙂 I am always inspired by parents who encourage creativity. I want my kids to always have a place to come draw or play or just think of something other than tv.
In my original plans for the room I made a large memo board to hang over our desk.
After doing some rearranging the board no longer fit but I am repurposing it for now as a place for the kids to hang their art.
Lots of easy storage and accessibility while still being out of Harper’s reach. Her creativity only stretches to crumbling up playdough and eating stickers right now 🙂
For adult creativity we have our workspace. Before anything else was decided for this room, we knew we wanted a long desk. We found this combo at IKEA and I shared more details here.
My accessories are a mix of acrylic, vintage, and gold.
To offset all that femininity I threw in a dog bowl. It’s my phone charging dock.
Our workspaces are very different and say a lot about us individually. His accessories, he would not call accessories but stuff, are little treasures he has collected. Like the adult version of snails and pennies in his pocket.
My handy sister made the curtain panels for me as well as the lumbar pillow. Taylor made the cornice boards. I think this room made me fall in love with him all over again.
My clipboard organization you can read more about here.
This cabinet was one of our first married purchases and it has served us well. It has lived all over our house, but is currently housing tons of design/craft/misc. stuff. It just holds a ton so it is working perfectly in here. I used a variety of accessories from around my house as well as some new. I found the mirrors on clearance for $6 at target.
These vases are from West Elm and are gorgeous! I also grabbed a couple of succulents and the baby bird pot. The brass lamp was another $5 Goodwill find with a Target shade.
Thanks for sticking around til the end of this post. This room is my little pride and joy. Forever it was a nursery and then one of those in betweener rooms just housing random stuff. I always had a colorful fun vision in mind and it’s so fun to see it come to life. I can’t wait to show you how a few quick changes turn it into our guest room! More on that Thursday so come back!

This room is packed with clever multi-use space solutions and eye candy … your skill with all the finishing details is amazing. Once as a kiddo my bed was placed in the corner like you have done and it was the perfect daybed / reading / everything place, very fun … the large frame you've positioned between the window and headboard totally balances that zone and carries the eye around the corner very nicely.
