One thing I have had to learn on my quest to play decorator is that not all of my ideas will be accepted. I love the creativity of coming up with a room design and it’s hard when you can’t get a client to jump on board with your entire vision. I get it, trust me, I know everyone has different tastes, comfortability levels, budgets, and what not but, it can still be frustrating. One goal I have this year is to get better at my initial presentation so that more and more clients will totally put their trust in my ideas. For this client I was lucky that she totally trusted me from the get-go. Ok, full truth- she is one of my best friends but, it can still be hard to trust someone to decorate your home no matter how close you are. She told me to just do it all my way and she really stayed true to that the whole way through. We did collaborate on a lot but with her good taste it was easy to create a room that I love. And luckily they love it too since it is their house and all 🙂
So here was my initial plan:
The more I was able to dream up ideas without a lot of limitations, the more this room fell into place. I could show y’all the finished product today but what fun would that be?! Plus this post is already a novel. So my little devoted readers you will have to come back tomorrow and I will show you this playroom that I love so much!
On another note…next Wednesday I will resume my Take Two series and I would love to have more of you play along. If you are interested in being a guest in that series please email me or leave a comment!

I hope! It really is my main goal this year and it's hard without an official interior design background but I think I am up for the challenge!

Ok I am TOTALLY going to check back tomorrow. I am graphic designer so I hear you. I actually started my blog as a way of transitioning out of graphics in addition to not being all that rewarding it does not pay well either. But the upside the skills I have help quite a bit with my blog. And I like your second idea better too.
