Before I share a client project with you I need to clear a little something up. I went to Raleigh this weekend to visit my old college and I promised you all some eye candy from Furbish. For those of you who follow me on Instagram you already know the sad news…
That’s my view from the window, where I cried.
See those store hours? I got there at 5:20. Yep 🙁
I could have sworn when I looked up their store hours it said 6pm.
I broke my neck to get out of the football game early only to find this out.
And it was literally a block from my hotel…talk about salt in the wound.
So, I will be planning another trip back very soon!
So anyways, back to today. I started this project way back in February and I am so excited to finally share the photos. Everything actually ran really smoothly and we finished up earlier in the spring. I loved working with these clients- they were super easy and have great taste. They were also expecting their first baby throughout this process so it was fun to see her belly grow and then finally, after the room was completed, find out what they had (more on that in a minute!)
Here is what we were working with…
*they were kind enough to let me bring my (new at the time) baby 🙂
We selected a new paint color, window treatments, tables, and accessories to finish the space off.
I will forever think of this room when I see the color plum.
We loved the idea of using it as an accent color against the chartreuse.
After hunting for the perfect fabric for window treatments I had an aha moment in Target,
I saw these panels and we decided to line them with a peek of plum.
The fringe trim finished them off and, in my opinion, they rival custom treatments for sure!
We found this console table for a steal!
I love the legs!
The accessories are always my favorite part…
And we also made a couple of tweaks to their entryway.
I had seen this photo leaning against a wall a thousand times when I walked in their house
and I always loved the colors. I insisted they hang it here.
It’s such a unique shot of them on their wedding day and get this, their friend took it on his iPhone!
And one last addition since I last visited their house…
a beautiful baby girl!

Beautiful accessory selection / styling and great selection of wall color, reads "greige" on my monitor and seems like a very versatile rich neutral wall color … can you share the color? And those curtains are genius! They would have been anemic if used as purchased but with your clever additions they definitely were elevated to custom impact. I wouldn't be surprised if your Tar-jay curtain "hack" (said as a total compliment) gets some major blog / pinterest / internet attention. And such a wonderful wedding photo … from an iPhone! Robin

Thank you so much for the sweet comments Robin- I totally agree that on their own they would not have much personality in a room with all that pattern going on. I hope people pin away!

Beautiful room…great job! Absolutely love the framed I-phone photo…perfect! Also love how you "dressed up" the Target panels…so great that you show how to customize store bought selections.

Isn't that iPhone picture ridiculous?!

I absolutely love what you did with those curtains, we have those hanging in our living and now I know what I am going to do to liven them up a bit.

Oh Beth, such a bummer! On a happier note, the drapes are fabulous, I recognized them but your details give them a great custom look! Great job!

Beth, That happened to me with a store that was closed the day I drove hours into the middle of nowhere to visit it. Crushing! But the room looks great, I love your accessories and styling, and agree that the addition of plum is fabulous.
All best,
Phyllis

You did such a great job on this project. I LOVE the drapery idea you came up with too. We do alot of custom window treatments and 'this' is such a custom-look but probably just a fraction of the cost. Stunning look….Kudos!
