The legs to my Mother’s Day present were finally stocked at our IKEA.
We went with a kitchen counter top, butcher block style, because I really wanted something longer than a standard desk. This was a cost-effective way to find something in a natural wood that could function as a dual workspace.
I also chose these legs because I feel like they add just the slightest feminine touch.
According to IKEA they are red but, I think they are much more coral/fuschia.
I temporarily stuck some extra dining chairs here but I have plans for some chairs that have been hanging out in my basement.
And here, is what I like to call a clean slate…
I always get such nerves before styling something so bare.
I have so many ideas of how I want this work area to look that
I almost don’t know which direction to take.
This is when I have to take a step back and just go with my gut.
I swear if I didn’t ever look at blogs I would just instinctively get to work,
but now with Pinterest and a slew of talented bloggers I get stage fright.
I’ll try to work through it so I can share an “after” since that’s all we care about anyways, right?!
Here are my two summer interns…
I’m not so sure about the one on the right…
