Can I confess something without sounding like a total Scrooge? I don’t feel like decorating this year. All I can think as I pull stuff out is that I am going to have to clean it all up in a few short weeks. I would much rather see all of your decorations and just skip my house! But, I have managed to kick my butt into gear and at least decorate our mantle and a couple other areas. For our mantle I used a mixture of candles and globe ornaments that I already had and the method to my madness was to just pile and rearrange things until they looked right. A mixture of metallics and shiny things is my favorite look for the holidays. It gives the perfect festive sparkle!
I took all of these pictures at night because, to me, all holiday decorations look better at night.
I love candles lit, the tree glowin, and all the tinsel sparkly!
{I spy a blogger taking a picture…}
Our stockings came from World Market several years ago and are no longer being sold there so I am trying to figure out a coordinating stocking for Harper! I bought the wreath from HomeGoods last Christmas and liked it so much that I ended up leaving it all year. Other than the decorations, I love what the stripes add to the fireplace!
Did you spot all my little reindeer friends?
The one on the mantle was a gift last year.
Taylor and I always give each other an ornament and that one was from Anthro.
These gold guys were scooped up at Michael’s last year and I think I saw them there this year too!
Christmas has also visited my bookshelves.
I have been collecting Santas for the last few years and I love the little guys.
The mini Christmas tree is a nesting doll and the center is one teeny tiny snowman. DIE.
I found the tinsel trees really cheap one year. I can’t remember where?? Target dollar bins perhaps??
I just wrapped the bases with some leftover burlap and tied a red ribbon around it.
I hang this berry wreath inside because I love the color.
I could consider keeping this up all year as well…
Outside I gave the porch some lovin.
I kept the wreath simple with a couple of floral stems of silver balls.
Having a red door really gets you off the hook!
I found these huge ornaments one year.
Again no clue where?? (Sorry that was before my blogging days!)
I have hung them from the porch awning and our gate but decided this year to keep them on the porch.
I used Command hooks on the windows to hang them.
I also stuffed a couple into a basket with leftover branches from our tree.
See our tree all aglow in there?!
I tied some leftover ribbon around my potted hydrangea…
(and didn’t bother to sweep for yall!!)
{Anyone spy Mr. Elfy?}
So that’s it for around here. Except for one more little decoration I will be back to share tomorrow. It was totally free and took me a total of about 5 minutes! Can you even handle the suspense?!
(Are you one of the original 50?! If so you be hurry up and enter the giveaway!)

For not doing any decorations…you did one heck of a job!!!
I agree, the wreath over the fireplace deserves 12 months!
It all looks wonderful.

Thank you Patty! And by the way, I can't believe you weren't one of the original 50?? I thought for sure you were because you are always reading and leaving such sweet feedback. I may have to just sneak your name in…

I just love the big ornaments on the windows – a nice change from wreaths. And next to polka dots, stripes are my favorite, so of course, I'm loving the mantel. 🙂 Everything looks great! Especially for a busy momma with a new baby!!

I am liking the ornaments too. Those stripes may just be my favorite thing in my whole house!
