“Would you…?” will be another reoccurring feature here on design POST. The question will always end with a different phrase, as in “would you…ever consider a red couch?” or “would you…wear this dress?” or “would you…paint your bedroom plum?” Just a question to see what you would or would not do as far as clothing, decor, or an event. I really do want to hear your thoughts so leave a comment if you feel like it.
This week’s would you involves some funky chairs I came across the other day. I stopped in Design Within Reach and couldn’t help but notice this bright chair…
It looks lit up but its just how the light catches this neon plastic (you really have to see it in person). Cool or tacky? Would it be an artsy piece in a design-junkie’s house or is it an eye-sore? There is a little part of me that can picture it solo at a minimalist/rustic dining room table as a statement piece or possibly paired with a cool desk but what do you think? Is it worth the $565 price tag??
If you want to know more about Sarah’s House or how I got involved with them click here. If you already read that then you know I have volunteered to take pictures of the girls and their children periodically throughout the year. It would be way too boring to just hand them an envelope of pictures so I try to think of creative ways to present them to the families. Last fall I used some items I had around the house for a cute but inexpensive idea. I saved some empty soup cans (cleaned out of course) for the “vase.” I had a stack of sweaters I was taking to Goodwill so I cut the sleeves off and used them as “slip covers” for the cans. Next I snapped some small branches off of my trees outside. I put the branches in the vases and used little metal clips to hang pictures from them. They were the perfect, cozy trees to display their fall pictures…
