I really have to pat myself on the back for this new little series I started. Somehow I have convinced some of the most talented bloggers out there to design my living room for me. These are ladies who I read religiously and they always blow my mind with their talent and now, somehow, they are designing for me?! If you missed last week’s post let me fill you in. I have 10 designers who are helping me see my living room with new eyes. I gave them the following pieces to work around but otherwise it is a free-for-all…
Sofa // Jute Rug // Coffee Table 1 // Coffee Table 2
I know that today’s designer is going to wow me. Sarah, of Sarah M. Dorsey Designs is so down-to-earth and for no good reason because she is insanely talented! I am sure you all have already seen her numerous projects around the web and you can agree with me that she is one of the best DIYers out there. I am amazed every single time she reveals one of her projects. I am just waiting for her create a line of furniture and accessories because I will be first in line for everything. So let’s get to it and see what Sarah has dreamed up for my living room!
Hi Design Post Interiors friends! It’s Sarah from Sarah M. Dorsey Designs, and I’m SO excited that Beth asked me to share here today! Such a fun concept to see how 10 designers would design around a few existing objects! Here’s my vision for her living room!
I see the space full of saturated jewel tones, plenty of texture and layers, mixed metals and fun pattern.
To ground the space, I layered Beth’s existing selection, a jute rug, underneath an overdyed rug from RugsUSA. I love the pop of color and vintage look!
For the sofa, I added a few of my favorite pillows, full of color and pattern! A geometric silver side table is perfect for holding a drink or book – I love the metallic sheen!
Underneath Beth’s previously selected coffee table, I added a few white Moroccan poufs with black stitching to add contrast. A simple Parsons desk with ottomans underneath would add extra seating and a punch of pattern. Simple draperies with trim and bamboo roman shades frame the window.
Finally, a dandelion pendant to add some glamour!
Many of the product links can be found on my Pinterest page, if you’re interested!
Thanks so much to Beth for inviting me to share today, I can’t wait to see her finished space! Feel free to stop by and say hi on my blog, I’d love to meet you!
Thank YOU Sarah! I never thought about this teal and yellow combo but I am loving it! The thing is, Sarah could make just about every piece she included. And, I definitely feel like I will be adding two poufs to my plans now- love that contrast stitching!
If you missed the start of the series make sure to go back and check it out…
